Every project is shown in full: the brief, how we approached it, and what it changed. Each is tagged with the layers it used.

CASE STUDY 01

Ventuplex

An identity for software that small companies can trust.

THE BRIEF

Ventuplex is a Tokyo-based software development company built on the premise that IP reuse can make enterprise-grade capability accessible to small and medium-sized businesses.

It had a strong technical proposition and no visual language to carry it. The identity needed to convey precision, integrity and forward momentum — without the conservative restraint typical of Japanese B2B software brands.

OUR APPROACH

We built the brand from the ground up: logo and symbol mark, a full identity system, and the corporate website, from architecture and UI through to front-end development.

THE RESULT

A visual language that travels equally well across Japanese and international business contexts.

DELIVERABLES

LOGO DESIGN Wordmark and symbol mark engineered for precision and cross-context legibility — digital, print, and at scale.
BRAND IDENTITY Full visual system: colour palette, typography, iconography, and usage guidelines across all brand touchpoints.
WEBSITE DESIGN Corporate website architecture, UI design, and front-end development.

A NOTE ON THIS PROJECT

Ventuplex is also our engineering partner and delivers the Code layer on Communiqué projects. This was a full client engagement, and we would rather you heard about the relationship from us.

CASE STUDY 02

Helmsman

Making a contrarian AI product land with Japanese e‑commerce.

SaaS · Commerce AI · 2024

THE BRIEF

Helmsman is a Commerce AI platform that reframes the social media advertising problem for Japanese e-commerce operators.

Its insight is deliberately counterintuitive: optimising ad delivery is not the problem — deciding what to advertise is. Meta and Google's AI already handles bids and budgets. Helmsman handles product selection at the SKU level, surfacing only the products that will convert before the ad spend begins.

OUR APPROACH

The site had to make that sharp, contrarian position land clearly with a technical Japanese audience, without oversimplifying a genuinely complex proposition. We designed the full digital experience — from information architecture and UI through to the structural logic of the copy.

THE RESULT

A product site that leads with the idea, not the feature list.

DELIVERABLES

COPY STRUCTURE Messaging hierarchy and page-by-page copy logic for a technical Japanese audience.
WEBSITE DESIGN Full product website — information architecture, UI design, and front-end development for the Japanese e-commerce market.

CONTEXT

Helmsman is a product of the Ventuplex group, our engineering partner. We worked on both the parent company's brand and this product site.
